Our History
In 1987, Air Flight, Inc. obtained licensing and approval with the DOT and FAA as Part 135 Air Carrier granting us authorization to provide private airplane charter services throughout the US and Caribbean with the focal point of the operations being the Bahamas. We were originally hubbed out of Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) and moved to Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (FXE) in 2020, a very short Uber away and more convenient to operate out of than busy FLL. We take pride in offering safe, reliable, private air charter flights to the Bahamas ~ every island! Our many years of success can be attributed to our great team and our wonderful customers that faithfully keep returning to fly with us to the Bahamas each year. We have great relationships with the so many wonderful Bahamas Resorts, Hotels, Marinas, Airbnbs, VRBOs, and Home Owners as well as Bahamas Civil Air Authority, Bahamas Embassy, Bahamas Hotel Association and Bahamas Association of Marinas. We provide our private charter flights to the Bahamas with a fleet of twin-engine aircraft which Air Flight owns and maintains. We have a fantastic maintenance team and pilot crew as well as an exceptional flight safety record with the FAA, BCAA and NTSB. Meet the Owner
Born in Texas and raised in Oklahoma, Chris Allen began his aviation career attending the USAF Academy in 1987. Chris graduated with Honors from USAFA with a Bachelor of Science Degree and Major in Business Management. Chris was honored to shake hands with President George H.W. Bush Senior who gave Chris his Officer Commissioning in the USAF in 1991. Chris has flown airplanes to over 40 countries in the world and every continent including flying the National Science Foundation Team to McMurdo Station, Antarctica, South Pole from Christchurch, New Zealand. Chris has held many distinguished flying positions in the USAF including Presidential Support Pilot, Nuclear Airlift Transport Pilot, Antarctica Instructor Pilot, Aerial Refueling Instructor Pilot, VIP Pilot and Air Ambulance Pilot. Chris was also the Personal Pilot for the Commander-in-Chief Transportation Command and US Air Force Chief-of-Staff, General Ronald Fogleman. After his Air Force Career, Chris joined Delta Airlines flying the Boeing 737 out of Orlando, Florida.
Chris loves the outdoors. He is an Eagle Scout and an avid diver, cyclist and fisherman. He’ll talk for hours about anything outdoors, especially diving and flyfishing in the Bahamas, if given the chance.
